Kevin Randleman and Roger Gracie will fight on May 15 for Strikeforce as originally planned now that for UFC and Pride fighter has been medically cleared to fight. Doubt arose on whether or not Randleman would be able to fight when concern was raised about a staph infection.
Strikeforce official Mike Afromowitz confirmed to MMAWeekly.com on Thursday that Randleman was cleared and the scheduled fight with Gracie would go forward as planned.
Randleman (17-14) last fought in November and lost a split decision to Stanislav Nedkov. This will be his first fight back with Strikeforce since a loss to Mike Whitehead via unanimous decision last June.
The fight was in jeopardy earlier this week when Randleman thought he contracted a staph infection. Doctors were brought in to examine the veteran fighter, and today he was given a clean bill of health to proceed with the fight next Saturday in St. Louis.
