Although Karo Parisyan was fired from the UFC and unable to reach an agreement with Strikeforce, he will still be fighting in 2010. On Thursday Parisyan signed with Impact FC, and he’ll make his debut with the company on July 10 in Australia.
“I [haven’t] fought for a year-and-a-half, (so) it’s exciting,” Parisyan said. “Time to get on top again.”
The Armenian-American fighter declined to comment on his Strikeforce negotiations other than to say the potential deal was a six-fight contract. He’ll now fight Luis Dutra Jr. in front of an Australian audience.
Parisyan spoke with MMAjunkie.com and confirmed the news.
Parisyan last fought in Jan. 2009 when he fought Dong Hyun Kim for the UFC. Parisyan originally won the fight via split decision, but the outcome was later overturned afterwards when he tested positive for banned painkiller during the post-fight drug test.
