Fresh off his defeat to George Sotiropolous Kurt Pellegrino has recieved more bad news with the knee injury he suffered at UFC 116 being worse than first feared. Pellegrino had an operation on his knee after injurying it at UFC 111 against Fabricio Camoes but unfortunately he reaggrivated the injury against Sotiropolous. During the operation to repair ‘a slightly torn meniscus’ the doctors discovered that he had also torn his ACL but as Pellegrino had only agreed to an operation on his meniscus they had to leave the ACL unrepaired. This means that Pellegrino will need to undergo fresh surgey and will not be able to fight until December at the earliest, March at the latest.
