On Monday’s MMA Hour, Ariel Helwani faciliated an interesting discussion between Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker and Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez about a possible superfight between Alvarez and Strikeforce’s champion Gilbert Melendez. Melendez has frequently talked about possibly facing Alvarez in a champion vs. champion contest, something that has yet to happen despite both Bellator and Alvarez saying they were open to it. On the air, Alvarez cut to the chase and told Coker that he was the last person who needed to approve the fight and asked him what was the hold up.
