The main card for New Year’s Day’s UFC 125 continues to develop with popular and exciting Clay Guida facing former Pride Lightweight Champion Takanori Gomi, with both fighters looking to move into world title contention with a victory. Guida has put together back to back victories over Shannon Gugerty and Rafael Dos Anjos giving the credit for his improved performances to his new trainer Greg Jackson, saying that “I know it in my heart, and that’s where it counts. The training speaks for itself. I’m at Greg Jackson’s working with the best in the world”. Gomi had a torrid debut in the UFC, being outclassed by Kenny Florian at Ultimate Fight Night 21 but bounced back by knocking out Tyson Griffin in just one minute in August. With both fighters famed for their all-action, high-impact style this fight could easily steal the show.
