Clovis, NM. – October 19, 2010 – Evolution Combat Sports Championship, a mixed martial arts fight organization based in Clovis, New Mexico, is set to debut in the mixed martial arts world this month with “Evolution 1.” “Evolution 1” is stacked with compelling professional and amateur match-ups and features some of the top MMA Talent in the Southwest. Evolution’s first MMA event, appropriately named “Evolution 1”, will take place on Saturday, October, 30th at the Curry County Events Center in Clovis, New Mexico. “Evolution 1” is also available via internet pay-per-view on www.gofightlive.tv for just $9.99! The fights will air live at 8:00pm ET.
According to Martin Singleterry, founder of Evolution Combat Sports Championship, “We are extremely excited to host Evolution’s first MMA event in our hometown of Clovis, New Mexico. This will be the first professionally run mixed martial arts fight event that has ever been held in our area. Many low budget fly-by- night promotions have come through over the years, but never a bonafide high quality show. We created Evolution to give MMA a viable home in New Mexico.”
Sam Singleterry, Martin’s brother and co-founder of the organization had this to add, “We plan to set a new precedence for local fight promotions throughout the state. Evolution was built on integrity and is run by dedicated MMA fans who also happen to be successful, educated business men. We can’t wait to execute our first event and to show fight fans in Clovis what they have been missing! The “Evolution 1” fight card is stacked with 18 well-matched amateur and professional fights. It is an exciting mixture of up-and-coming amateurs and seasoned professionals. This is a show that MMA fans will not want to miss!”
The main event features a compelling match-up between two very skilled fighters, Bellator Fighting Championships veteran and Texas fan favorite Marcus “Money” Sursa (9-6-0) and MMA super star Buddy Roberts (9-2-0). Sursa, a skilled submission specialist and explosive striker hailing from Amarillo, Texas, is coming off of a TKO win over Ryan McClain at KOTC 9. Roberts, now riding a three fight win streak, is a very explosive, well-rounded fighter, that is has proven to be a dominating force on the Nevada MMA fight scene.
In the Co-Main Event, Anselmo Martinez, a West Texas fighter with a history of finishing his opponents in the first round, will face heavy handed Strikeforce veteran Tim Stout. This is a very significant bout, as both fighters are looking to redeem themselves after recent losses. This is a great opportunity to prove to the fans that they are still top contenders. This promises to be an action packed fight from start to finish!
