BC’s amateur MMA scene has really begun to take off, there is no longer only a few places to go to see BC’s top MMA talent. Summer 2011 promises to be full of action and competition like there never was. let’s start by reviewing the last couple weeks in the MMA world.
UFC 130 brought two of the industries biggest names in the most anticipated fight in years. GSP vs. Shields brought a technical grind that left many fans looking for more. Sure both fighters showed why they are deemed the top technical fighters in the professional leagues, but fans hoped for some bigger hits and to see some attempted finishes. Over-all UFC 130 brought some big entertainment right from their under card with Rory MacDonald and Nate Diasz
Quest For Glory Fighting Championship: The Beginning. comes to the Croatian Cultural Center on June 17th. This amateur card brings the province’s big names like Oliver Vajda vs. Walter Barrios and Victor Wang vs. Jake Lindell. QFGFC’s focus is bringing the sport of MMA back to it’s traditional roots and focusing on the most important aspect of the sport, the athletes. Expect a stellar line-up and an entertaining evening of battles and show of talent. Tickets will be released for sale on-line by May 15th on www.questforgloryfc.com.

Another full house and full fight card meant the Total Mayhem was a success and proved again that it plays by it’s own rules to deliver entertainment for the masses.
