Already a legend in the sport of kickboxing, 27-year-old Tyrone Spong is looking to continue making shockwaves in the World Series of Fighting Cage when he headlines WSOF 4 this Saturday, Aug. 10. The Surinamese-Dutch striker, who trains alongside some of the worlds best with Florida’s famed Blackzilian team, has amassed more than 70 career wins as a martial artist.

Spong’s professional MMA debut took place this past November on the main card of the NBC Sports Network-televised World Series of Fighting 1 event, where he scored a first-round knockout of Travis Bartlett. Spong now takes a step up in competition against Angel DeAnda, a hard-hitting Californian who has racked up 10 knockouts in his 11 victories with only 2 losses.

Nick Newell is an incredibly inspirational athlete who is undefeated through his first nine career fights despite being born with just one fully-developed arm. Due to a birth condition known as congenital amputation, Newell’s left arm stops just past the elbow. Still, Newell never let the condition stand in the way of accomplishing his dreams, and he racked up more than 300 wins in his high school and college wrestling career.

The 27-year-old Newell makes his World Series of Fighting debut with a perfect 9-0 record that has already earned Newell a Championship Belt as he earned a lightweight title. He meets Keon Caldwell, a 23-year-old prospect who was a cast member of “The Ultimate Fighter 13.” All nine of Caldwell’s wins have come by stoppage, including eight by knockout. Eight of his 10 fights have ended in the opening round.

“World Series of Fighting 4: Spong vs. DeAnda” takes place Saturday, Aug. 10, at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, Calif.

The five-fight main card, also includes Marlon Moraes vs. Brandon Hempleman, Ray Sefo vs. Dave Huckaba, Nick Newell vs. Keon Caldwell and Tyson Griffin vs. JZ Cavalcante, and airs live on NBC Sports Network at 7:30 p.m. PT (10:30 p.m. ET).

Five undercard bouts, including Jorge Santiago vs. Gerald Harris, will stream live online at www.wsof.com beginning at 5 p.m. PT.
