All three sign exclusive, multi-fight deals and are expected to debut in 2014
LAS VEGAS (Nov. 27, 2013) — The Las Vegas-based World Series of Fighting promotion continues to add depth to its roster with the addition of proven veterans “Razor” Razak Al-Hassan (12-4) and Luis “Baboon” Palomino (21-9), as well as top prospect Kelvin “The Mama’s Boy” Tiller (6-0).
All three fighters have signed exclusive, multi-fight deals with World Series of Fighting and are expected to debut for the promotion in 2014.
“We’re gearing up for an incredible 2014 by continuing to add quality fighters to all of our divisions,” World Series of Fighting President Ray Sefo said. “Razak and Luis have both proven themselves to be very exciting, durable fighters capable of testing anyone in their weight class, and Kelvin looks to be a very bright talent with a great future ahead. I look forward to seeing all three of them in the decagon.”
The 31-year-old Al-Hassan currently trains at Wisconsin’s Red Schafer MMA. A black belt in tae kwon do, Al-Hassan was born in the United States to Ghanaian immigrants. He made his professional MMA debut in 2007 and previously fought twice for the UFC. Eleven of his 12 professional wins have come by knockout or submission, and earlier this year he earned the Aggression Fighting Championship light heavyweight title with a first-round submission win over Tim Chemelli.
The 33-year-old Palomino was born in Peru but now resides in Miami. A black belt in both capoeira and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Palomino is a force on the feet and the floor. A former Championship Fighting Alliance featherweight champion, Palomino recently moved up to lightweight and fell just short in a bid for the promotion’s lightweight title. Palomino also fought five times for Bellator MMA, including a slot on the promotion’s very first show.
Tiller is an undefeated prospect from Kansas who is unbeaten in his first six fights since turning pro in 2011. Just 23 years old, the middleweight appears to have a bright future, with five of his six career wins coming by of finish, including four submission wins.
