Sao Paulo Brazil (April 28, 2014) – XFC International was back on the airwaves last weekend on REDETV! XFC International’s fourth live installment from Sao Paulo, Brazil, drew millions of viewers on Saturday night while maintaining drive forward and continuing with XFC International’s monumental growth.
XFC International President Myron Molotky described the enthusiasm shared by MMA fans worldwide “We are now about one month away from the XFCi Season 1 Tournament Finals. Latin America has been the ultimate proving grounds to establish the path of the Next Generation of Champions. The all out wars that we witnessed on Saturday night will progress to the crowning of the XFCi Season 1 Champions.”
Controversy surrounded the Main Event, when Waylon “O Gringo” Lowe (United States) faced off against Marcos Rodrigues dos Santos (Brazil). Lowe and dos Santos battled for three rounds while the aggressive American thwarted the Brazilian veteran’s attack and impressed the Brazilian audience. Dos Santos was initially declared the winner over Lowe with a split decision, however, the Brazilian Federation CBMMA investigated the results and judging before declaring a No Contest.
The Co-Main Event featured, XFCi women’s contenders, Brazilian Kalindra Faria (14-3), and Serbian Sanja Sucevic (4-2). These warriors faced off in a critical battle for domination in the XFCi Super Fight Strawweight division. In the first and second round, the Brazilian had a noticeable advantage over Sucevic, working a cut over the eye of the fighter from Serbian. The fight became a highlight video of the strength and determination by the Serbian fighter as a star was born. The powerful and talented Faria finally triumphed over Sucevic with a unanimous decision. This war left MMA fans worldwide screaming for a rematch.
The preliminary card had exciting fights as well in theXFC1 Welterweight Tournament Semi Finals. Will Galvao (Brazil) defeated Cairo Rocha (Brazil) with a 1st Rd TKO in 12 seconds, catching the popular Rocha before the anticipated battle unfolded. Also in the Welterweight division, Kevin Medinilla (Argentina) defeated crowd favorite Pedro Junior (Brazil) with 2nd round arm lock. Pedro Junior dominated early, but the veteran Argentine patiently waited for his chance to submit. Both Galvao and Medinilla advance to Season 1 Tournament finals.
In the Featherweight Division, rising star Alejandro Vilalobos (Costa Rica) triumphed over Bruno Canetti (Argentina) with a highlight reel first round TKO, while the closest contest of the night featured Glaucio Eliziairo outlasted Alan dos Santos for the split decision.
Eduardo Duarte, XFC matchmaker, proclaimed XFCi 4 another resounding success. “XFCi Season 1 tournament Finals will not disappoint fans around the world as the new champions rise on June 7, 2014.
