LAS VEGAS (July 27, 2015) –World championship Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) promotion World Series of Fighting (WSOF.com) announced today that it has re-signed explosive, fast-rising bantamweight (135 pounds) star Timur “Lucky” Valiev to a multi-fight, multi-year agreement.
The 25-year-old Valiev’s next WSOF bout, his fourth with the promotion, will be announced soon.
“We are thrilled to extend our agreement with Timur Valiev, one of the brightest, young prospects and most exciting rising stars in our entire sport,” said WSOF President Ray Sefo.
A native of Makhachkala, Dagestan Russia who trains out of the famed Jackson-Winklejohn MMA camp in Albuquerque, N.M., the 5-foot-6 Valiev is in the midst of a phenomenal, unbeaten run that spans four years and all nine of his professional career victories.
Valiev is a three-time veteran of WSOF action, and has already delivered a few memorable highlights during his stint with the promotion, including the flying knee strike he used to score a third round (1:35) TKO on Adam Acquaviva during Valiev’s promotional debut at WSOF 10 on June 21, 2014.
In his last start at WSOF 19 on March 28, Valiev scored a TKO on Ed West with a flurry of punches and elbow strikes in the first round (1:39) of their meeting.
