A strawweight bout has just
been announced for Nove-
meber 5, with Heather Clark
taking on one of the biggest
woman prospects in MMA
Alexa Grasso in Mexico City.
The card is headlined by for-
mer lightweight champion Ra-
fael Dos Anjos and top ranked
lightweight Tony Ferguson.
Heather Jo Clark was a contes-
tant on the 20th season of the
ultimate fighter, falling short
in the first round against Fe-
lice Herring on the show, she
had a successful UFC debut
defeating Bec Rawlings. She
has been sidelined a lot since
being in the UFC dealing with
injuries and going 1-1 under
the promotion, most recently
losing a unanimous decision
to top strawweight Karolina
Kowalkiewicz. Clark will be
looking to derail the hype of
Grasso in enemy territory and
get back into the winners col-
umn.
Grasso has been unbeaten in
eight fights as a professional,
winning four of those bouts via
TKO/KO. She fought her first
four fights in her hometown
of Mexico until signing with
Invicta in 2014. After three
wins in Invicta she was set to
fight for the title until a hand
injury kept her sidelined for 17
months. After many questions
about how she will comeback
after such a long layoff due to
injury, she most recently made
her return in July against Jodie
Esquibel, dominating three
rounds to a decision as well as
getting a performance of the
night bonus.
The 23-year-old has made it
clear that she believes she is
the best 115-pound fighter
in the world and she will now
have a chance to back up the
talk, starting with winning her
debut in her hometown of
Mexico against a tough vet-
eran in Heather Clark.
