More than a decade ago, a
young 24-year-old by the name
of Brandon Vera stepped foot
inside a cage to compete in
mixed martial arts (MMA) for
the very first time. His heart
was racing at full speed, as a
whole new experience shaped
the rest of his life.
What was the first of many
tests became his life work over
the course of the next 12 years
and many more years to come.
He may not have known it at
that time, but nothing was ever
going to be the same again.
Now, 20 fights and 12 victo-
ries later, Vera finds himself on
the brink of making another
debut. A new lease of life you
may call it. This time it is with
Asia’s largest MMA organisa-
tion – ONE Fighting Champion-
ship (ONE FC).
This is his opportunity to repeat
and retell the Vera success sto-
ry all over again.
“It is not a new chapter; it is
a whole new book,” Vera was
reported saying in an interview.
