same time. Well, I guess you
can say when one door closes,
another door opens immedi-
ately.
“I am going to the Philippines. I
am moving to Asia. I am going
to fight in Asia. This is my mo-
tivation,” he added. “I am way
more focused, I have the skills
and the desire is something I
have not had in a long time but
I do now.”
Winning ways
Vera started his career with an
impressive eight-fight winning-
streak. During that streak he
was crowned the 2005 WEC
heavyweight grand prix cham-
pion, which lead to him to
a contract with the Ultimate
Fighting Championship (UFC).
Throughout his career Vera
has competed in both the light
heavyweight and heavyweight
divisions. But for his tenure
with ONE FC, Vera is making
a return to the heavyweight
division, which is where he
saw much of his success in the
early stages of his career and
where he is most comfortable
at. Of course, the goal now is
to become the inaugural ONE
FC Heavyweight World Cham-
pion.
