The biggest billboard in
UFC history will have Lat-
in blood in their ranks, as
the Mexican and winner
of The Ultimate Fighter,
Kelvin Gastelum, will face
the always difficult Don-
ald “Cowboy” Cerrone in
New York City.
Gastelum already had a
scheduled bout against
Jorge Masvidal in Mexico,
but the former champion
Robbie Lawler was injured
and was presented the
opportunity for the Aztec
warrior obtain an oppor-
tunity in the long-awaited
billboard.
“When I heard that Rob-
bie Lawler was injured, I
was sending messages to
Dana White,” said Gaste-
lum. “But as I had a sched-
uled fight, they (UFC) did
not want to it give me and
they (UFC) were trying to
negotiate with Diaz, but
failed to reach an agree-
ment and left me.”
Despite having the oppor-
tunity to fight in front of
his people in Mexico City
he emphasized that Gas-
telum has already been in
that situation and could
