Kevin Ferguson Jr. was al-
ways interested to fight,
from the time he saw his
father, the famous Kimbo
Slice in street fights that
made him a celebrity. Af-
ter the death of Slice in
June this year, fighting
became the calling of his
son. “I take it more seri-
ously. Not just money or
fame, is continuing the
legacy said the young
man nicknamed” Baby
Slice “to The MMA Hour.”
That’s my goal, “Slice”
carry the name of the next
level. Show the world the
new Slice “.
“I always wanted to be
a fighter. I did not want
to study, to be honest
did not even want to do
right, I just wanted to
train and fight, “contin-
ued Ferguson Jr., who at
age 24 already has a con-
tract with Bellator MMA
after a debut as a profes-
sional in March. Unfortu-
nately, his debut has been
delayed twice, but Baby
Slice do not mind having
more time to prepare. “I’ll
have more cardio, more
technical, more power. I
will continue to improve. I
feel bad for my opponent,
whoever he is. You will
get hurt.”
Being the son of a figure,
especially one with the
popularity it had on Kim-
bo Slice in life can be a dif-
ficult burden to carry, but
Ferguson Jr. says he’s not
feeling pressure about it:
“It’s just more fans. Their
fans are my fans and I am
ready to show what I can
do, “said the young man,
who made his debut with-
out informing his father or
his team. “I want all these
guys continue to defy me,
to keep thinking that can
get into that cage with
me, because they expect
a nasty surprise.”
