During the historic MSG event,
Victory fighters, many of which
expressed their gratitude for
being able to fulfill a lifelong
dream of fighting in front of
friends and family at the world’s
most famous arena, show-
cased their skills in front of a
SOLD OUT crowd. The Victory
event at MSG drew the larg-
est gate on record for a non-
boxing combat sports event in
the State of New York. Nearly
3,900 fans were in attendance
and that number does not in-
clude comps (Victory donated
100 tickets to military veterans
through VetTix).
Victory’s founder and CEO has
a very interesting (and impres-
sive) professional background,
one that many feel is the foun-
dation of the fast-rising pro-
motion’s success. An avid fan
and practitioner of martial arts
since childhood, Kevin Lillis
started working in the Com-
bat Sports industry in 2006
with the popular ‘Friday Night
Fights’ promotion, but his pro-
fessional experience extends
well beyond the fight game.
He also boasts 15 years of ex-
ecutive level experience in the
hospitality industry and is be-
hind some of the most recog-
nized boutique hotels, restau-
rants and lounges in New York
City.
Lillis applies his hospitality
knowledge to ‘up’ the enter-
tainment factor at Victory fight
events and it shows. It is as if
you’re attending an upscale
party and highly entertaining
fights just happen to break out.
According to Victory execu-
tives, it is not just about put-
ting on a great night of fights,
it’s about hosting an event that
offers an overall exceptional
experience to all that attend,
complete with food, spirits,
music and a great show - ex-
actly what you would expect
at any reputable event held in
New York City.
Scrapp! Fight Magazine recent-
ly caught up with Victory CEO
Kevin Lillis. Here is what he had
to say about the promotions
success, the recent sold out
event at Madison Square Gar-
den, the on-going battle to le-
galize MMA in New York and
more!
