That’s right, the man who has been going back-
and-forth with Rousey for what seems like an
eternity has now voiced his support for her.
Mayweather stated, ”I want Ronda Rousey to
hold her head up high and don’t let this discour-
age you.”
“Money” even offered his personal assistance:
”If you need help as far as with boxing, I’m here
to help you. It’s all about timing and inches. Her
ground game is unbelievable. She’ll be okay.”
He concluded, “If I was her, I would’ve used
Floyd Mayweather’s name also. She’s supposed
to do that. It’s business, it’s not personal, and I
understand business.”
Rousey sparked the rivalry between the two dur-
ing an interview in July after winning the ESPY
for best female athlete when she referenced
Mayweather’s history of domestic violence.
That comment then led to her claiming, in mul-
tiple interviews, that she could beat him if they
were to go toe-to-toe in the cage.
Considering these hostile comments Mayweath-
er should be given credit for not taking the op-
portunity to add insult to injury.
Mike Tyson and George Foreman both posted
messages of support on Twitter for the defeated
champion.
Tyson and Rousey are known to have a friend-
ship together and the former heavyweight
champion has even visited Glendale Fight Club
to watch her train.
Moreover the two have often been compared
because of the way they both completely domi-
nated their weight class and dispatched of op-
position with ease.
Foreman backed up the comments of his fellow
former heavyweight.
Before comparing her to some the all time
greats.
Undoubtedly words from bonafide legends of
the game will, at least momentarily, put a smile
on Rousey’s face.
