With the growing popu-
larity of Mixed Martial
Arts over the past decade,
MMA gyms have been
popping up all over the
world. Despite the popu-
larity of the sport, many
MMA gyms end up closing
their doors within a few
years. In order to stand the
test of time they must be-
come (and remain) profit-
able.
A lot of MMA gyms have
training facilities with
state-of-the-art
equip-
ment, employ top-ranked
coaches and have an im-
pressive roster of fight-
ers, but that alone is not
enough. Ultimately the
success of an MMA gym
comes down to attract-
ing and retaining ‘paying’
members, not the number
of A-list fighters that train
at their facility.
When it comes to the
‘dynamics’ of a success-
ful MMA gym there are
many moving parts, all of
which must work together
to form a solid founda-
tion. The ultimate goal of
that foundation is to at-
tract and retain ‘paying’
members. Most successful
MMA gyms put a strong
emphasis on catering to
the general public (not
just fighters). Fight Ready
Mixed Martial Arts and Fit-
ness in Scottsdale, Arizona
is a prime example.
