David Heida
- Thank you.
Really we try to write music we
like. That’s kind of why we got
into music to begin with. But
as you learn and define who
you are as a band you start to
figure things out. With “The
Current Sea” we wanted a
more straight-forward album.
With our previous album “Let
It Go”, we tried just about ev-
erything and maybe ended up
with too long of songs as with
TCS, we went for very power-
ful songs with no filler.

- What is the writing pro-
cess like for Haster?
David Heida
- Music always
comes first. It’s kind of the out-
line for the songs. Everything
always begins with a riff or an
idea and we build from there.
Some songs have been written
in a day, while others can take
6 months. It just depends how
things flow together. We try to
make the best songs we can
and having all us apart of the
writing process I believe helps
in do that. Even when we’re
done, our producer, Chris Eck
will even go through them and
will help us add that “extra”
part to really give it that “Hast-
er Sound”.
If this sounds like something
that you would be interested
in, at least go check out “The
Unscene” video on YouTube
and then if you like it you can
get the album from iTunes, Am-
azon, Best Buy, or Barnes and
Noble. If you want to check out
the band they do have a Face-
book and you can find them on
Twitter @Hasterband. I want to
take this opportunity to give
big thanks to David from Hast-
er for answering the questions
I had and really enriching much
of my writing this go around. In
closing guys, I just want to re-
mind you that even if you don’t
pay for it, music isn’t free. Sup-
port good music.
